The vocal ensemble Vox Canora was founded in 2000 under the guidence of Mº Gianluigi Giacomoni with the intention of performing a wide repertoire ranging from the elaboration of popular melodies
to hits of pop music and soundtracks. Also to engage itself with authors of the classic tradition.During the years the increase of the group has lead to obtaining important acknowledgments in the national field including the first prize, in the X International Music Competition in Cortemilia (Cn), in the section for mixed choir in september 2002.
The chorus Vox Canora asserts itself quickly inside of the national panorama of modern music arriving, in collaboration with the Orchestra of the "Fondazione Arturo Toscanini", to participate in 2000 in the concert directed by Mº Ennio Morricone in Parma (with the participation of Angel Branduardi, Dulce Pontes and Gemma Bertagnolli) and, in 2004, to the "live" execution directed by Mº Helmut Imig in the dome of Orvieto of the soundtrack of the film "Fratello Sole" by Luigi Mancinelli, inside of the "Orvieto Musical comedy Cinema".
The activity of the chorus Vox Canora over the years has seen its participation in the organized reviews of the "Associazione Cori Parmense" (of which the chorus is associated) and of the City of Parma, moreover the cultural association has participated over the years in various concerts held for beneficial scope, in favor of various city associations, organizing also the choral reviews always with beneficial scope.
After a short and appreciated collaboration with Mº Gregorio Pedrini, from september 2008 choral ensemble Vox canora is directed by Mº Monica Lodesani whose first engagement has been the preparation of the Gloria di Vivaldi, executed in the Church of Saint Sepolcro in Parma in collaboration with other choruses of the city. At the close2 of 2008 we participated in the christmas reviews "the choruses of Advent" (organized from the Associazione Cori Parmense) and in the concert of Nativity in the Church of Baganzola (Pr).
In 2009 as part of ModuLAB studies in Casalecchio di Reno (Bo), we partecipated in part of the soundtrack of the film "The man who will come" directed by Giorgio Diritti and centralized on the massacre of 29 of september 1944 in the Marzabotto hills of Bologna.
The chorus includes in its staff a variety of people with various musical culture; self-taught musicians, amateurs and professional who are considering music alike, creating a moment of aggregation and fun, finding in the chorus the possibility to join the passion for music with the friendship of the people. The experienced matured from the several members and various musical styles enableing the Vox Canora to explore new possibilities and sensibilities of their own music and to nail accapella of the 1900's; the current program ranges from songs of early music to modern music and transcripts of recent pop and soundtracks emphasizing the eclectic training. For modern pop repertoire the choir Vox Canora is joined by musicians that create the backbone of music and rhythm tracks.
